8k Run / Walk
Why an 8k?
We chose 8k for our race distance as a tribute to the many women who have or will develop Breast Cancer. Sadly, statistics show that 1 out of every 8 women will develop invasive Breast Cancer at some time in their lives. 1 out of every 8 women is too many – by running or walking in the 1 in 8k Moore for the Cure, you can help change the statistics and change lives in the process!

Timing
Timing for the 1 in 8k Moore for the Cure will be B-Tag timing (timing on the bib). It doesn’t matter if you start at the back of the pack or get squished at the start. The chip will start your official time when you cross the computer pads at the starting line, and stop when you cross the finish line – all results will be posted online.

Is there a time limit or mile time limit on the 8k?
Thanks for asking, no there is no time limit. In fact, I’m thinking that there will be many people who will walk the 8k. I hope you are able to join us for the race!
Where can we park on race day?
There are a number of areas in the Village which you can park, but no official parking place. I would try along the edge of the Village Green just past the Given Memorial Library.
Are there Water Stops along the way?
Yes, there are 3 Water stops on the course – two port-o-potties as well.
